Wandering and Making Notes: Is It Worth It?

It’s natural for us to explore and jot down what we see.

In the bustle and buzz of our fast-paced reality, note-taking has taken a backseat. Even when we walk, it's often to relieve stress rather than to discover.

When my dad moved to a new city for work, he borrowed a bicycle and explored the city. This was in a time when smartphones were less hyped. To pass the time, he explored on his bicycle, noting things, places, and people.

One day, he said, "I used to miss many things while cycling, so it's better to walk. Take a look at things slowly; you'll know them better."

This method became the most effective way for me to grasp my ideas better. It feels even more creative when you picture this:

Take a stroll. Breathe and ponder the idea you're working on.

Observe the beautiful things around you. Draw inspiration from them.

You have a phone or a pocket notebook. Make notes. Engage in that creative conversation with yourself. This process turns out to be more creative than thinking your ideas while sitting in one place all the time.

That's it. Take a walk. Observe things, people, and places. Jot down your ideas and thoughts to discover what makes 'you' special.
